We were in the Louisville area for business and had a long wait for our flight back to Orlando. We decided to wait it out at Books & Bourbon at the airport in Louisville. We were a party of 4 and not only was the food delicious, but the service was amazing.

Our server was Mercedez and she not only was attentive and entertaining but upsold us on some fabulous bourbon tastings. We had a great time and a wonderful experience. Mercedez was amazing!

Most airport dining options are depressing and this one was the exception to the rule. Highly reccomended!.

This restaurant is right before the TSA screen at Louisville's Airport. We took our son to the airport and thought we  get their breakfast. It wasn't that busy since just arrived. Menu was mostly Liquor. Bottom line: service was very pleasant and nice, however the food was mediocre at best. We ordered 2 orders of cornbeef hash which was a huge disappointment. It was actually pieces of meat and potatoes (eggs over medium that were actually cooked hard) that could hardly chew pieces of I guess cornbeef. Youngest ordered a hamburger which was mostly bun and other youngest ordered
a waffle with ice cream (guess that's the only item that they can't screw up but no syrup. Coffee was good and replenished only after asking each time without any more creamer brought.
My advice: go next door to Starbucks!
Wasn't worth the $68, plus tip

How can this place be voted one of the best in airport bars?

Service is terrible. Bartenders avoid the bar, don't ask for refills, and have no idea how to keep a bar...had to move glasses and receipts out of the way and didn't wipe the bar down. Then ask guests that arrived after what they wanted. Perhaps the tenders should read a book on how to keep a bar...

With time to kill before my friend's plane departed, we visited Book & Bourbon for a drink. On the way to our booth we spotted the long couches and asked to sit there. The couches were a nice mix of upscale and comfortable with a coffee table and Kentucky photo books.

My American Mule was decent and actually tasted a bit better to me when it watered down slightly. Our server checked on us several times to fill up waters and make sure we didn't want another round.

While I can't speak to the food, it's a nice atmosphere and for those not yet inside of security it's a great pit stop before or after a flight. I actually forgot we were inside an airport!

The table tents noted this is now a stop on the Bourbon Trail.

Airport restaurants are often good for one thing, quick food. This one offered up atmosphere, great food, amazing cocktails and friendly good service. The menu here is perfect. It looks like a book and has so much cute info about bourbon in it. They have great southern food and an amazing bourbon list. My fried green tomato benedict was perfect with a yummy bernaise sauce. Combined with a big ole Bloody Maris, perfect way to end my Louisville trip.
